[the house]

This might be the nicest house Kakashi's ever lived in. Too nice, maybe, like the sort of showroom houses he'd imagine are used to sell slots in fancy suburbs to like... dentists, or something. Even the neighborhood is Too Nice For Him. He kept checking the map on his phone while they drove through, thinking they must have gotten to directions from the doctor wrong.
It's not, though.
Kakashi follows Guy and Dr. Miller around the house in a slight daze, nodding along. It's been a long few... he's not even sure how long. They were only in court for a few hours, but it felt like weeks, and everything else has been a whirlwind. Paperwork. So much paperwork. Agreeing to live in some institute-provided housing left him with horrifying visions of the fishbowl room from the hospital, on a larger scale. But no, it's alright. It's a good house, in a good neighborhood, in the city they already live in.
Dr. Miller is chatty enough through the tour, cheerful. Seems like an okay doctor. They've seen so many so far, though.
"And the institute can provide these furnishings, of course," The doctor chirps as they head into the very big living room. "We understand you have very limited means."
"Actually, I have a lot of stuff that we could use in storage." Kakashi pipes up, finally. "It was all Minato and Kushina's."
Dr. Miller looks delighted. "Things Naruto might remember?"
"Yeah," Kakashi nods, shuffling around a little. "Also, I was wondering... I know that Kurama will be allowed here, but I was thinking..."
Dr. Miller smiles and waves her hand gently at him. "Your other dogs will be alright. We know you're a professional, Mr. Hatake, and children generally respond well to the use of therapy animals."
"That's a relief," Kakashi sighs a little. He doubts his weird mutts would really be technically therapy animals, but he's not going to argue that. He's just glad he doesn't have to leave them.
